Psychotherapy. This involves working with a psychotherapist to ease emotional, behavioural and psychological problems. The many types include aversion therapy (gradually increased exposure to a feared thing, such as heights or flying);body-mind therapies (based on massage,for example,releasing feelings) ; and cognitive-behavioural therapy (helping a person deal with their reaction to illness and the limitations it puts on life). Other types include psychoanalysis, dreamwork and hypnotherapy, which involves health-promoting suggestions made during deep relaxation.
