A technique in which you imagine yourself in a relaxing enviroment,overcoming a challenge or dealing with a situation differently. These mind pictures can heal, either because they are symbolically important or because they induce changes in neurotransmitters (nerve message carriers), hormones and "feel-good" endorphins; help you to relax; boost immunity; and decrease pain. Visualisation can ease skin disorders, high blood pressure, heart disease, anxiety, depression, migraine, eating disorders, cancer and sleep problems.
